Internet Governance Internship and Capacity Building (IGICB) Scheme

The National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI) has launched the IGICB Scheme.

Founded in 2003, NIXI is a not-for-profit organization under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), tasked with increasing internet penetration and adoption across India.

About the Internet Governance Internship and Capacity Building Scheme:

• Ministry: MeitY
• Objective: To raise awareness and build expertise in Internet Governance (IG) among Indian citizens.
• Opportunities: Participants can engage in global IG processes with I-Star organizations such as the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).
  (I-Star organizations refer to those responsible for coordinating the technical infrastructure of the Internet.)
• Internship Duration: The scheme offers bi-annual internships, with both six-month and three-month programs available.
