SOLUTION

6.       Let the n umber be X. then,

                   X – 24 = 4/7X      x -4/7 x = 24     #/7 X = 24   x = (24 x 7 /5) = 56.
                    Sum of the digits = (5 + 6)
                   = 11.

7.       Let the number be x. then, 15X – x = 196     14X = 196

             x = 14.

8.       Let the number be x. then, X /4 = X – 21     X = 4x – 84     3X = 84

           X = 28.

9.       Let the number be. Then, (1/5X + 4) = (1/4 X – 10)   x / 20 = 14   x = 14 x 20

        = 280.

10.       Let the larger number be x.

             Then, x – 12 20% of X   X - /5 = 12  4X / 5 = 12     x = (12 x 5 / 4)

               = 12.
