 SOLUTION

11.       Let the number be x. then, 1/7X – 1/11x = 100   4X/77 = 100  X = 7700 / 4

             = 1925.

12.       Let the number be x.

                Then, (12 X + 1/5 x ) – 1/3 X = 22 / 3  11x /30 = 22 ./ 3     x = (22 x 30 /3 x 11)

                   = 20.

13.       Let the number be x. then, 2x + 20 = 8x – 4    6x = 24

             X = 4.

14.       Let the number be x.

                Then, 2/3X – 50 = ¼ X + 40   2/3 X = 1/4X = 90    5x / 12 = 90     X = (90 x 12 /5)

                = 216.

15.       Let the number be X.

                Then, x + x² = 182   x² + X – 182 = 0  ( X + 14) (X – 13) = 0   X = 13.

                X = 13.
