The Araku Utsav themed ‘Chali’

The Araku Utsav themed ‘Chali’ is being held in the scenic Araku Valley of Andhra Pradesh.

About Araku Valley:

  • Location: Situated in the Eastern Ghats, Araku Valley lies at an average altitude of 600 m to 900 m above sea level.

Key Features:

  • The Anantagiri and Sunkarimetta Reserved Forests, part of the valley, are rich in biodiversity and also serve as sites for bauxite mining.
  • Often referred to as the Ooty of Andhra due to its lush, hill station-like charm.
  • The valley is home to various tribal communities, primarily the Araku Tribes.
  • Araku Valley is famous for its Araku Arabica Coffee, which received the Geographical Indication (GI) Tag in 2019.
  • Surrounded by mountains such as Galikonda, Raktakonda, Sunkarimetta, and Chitamogond.
