About Silicon Carbide (SiC):
Also called carborundum, silicon carbide is a man-made crystalline compound consisting of silicon and carbon.
Properties: It is extremely hard, has high thermal conductivity, offers excellent resistance to wear and oxidation, and is resistant to chemical reactions, among other qualities.
Applications: Silicon carbide is used in various industries, including electrical, mechanical, structural, ballistic, and armor fields.
