PM SHRI Scheme (PM Schools for Rising India)
According to the Ministry of Education (MoE), PM SHRI Schools have seen a significant increase in student enrollment, with a 76% rise across five states—Manipur, Tripura, Rajasthan, Meghalaya, and Madhya Pradesh.
About the PM SHRI Scheme (Aligned with NEP 2020):
- Nodal Ministry: Ministry of Education (MoE)
- Type: Centrally sponsored scheme launched in 2022
- Duration: 5 years (2022-23 to 2026-27)
- Objective: To establish and develop over 14,500 PM SHRI Schools managed by Central, State, or UT Governments, as well as local bodies
- Funding Pattern:
- 60:40 between the Centre and State Governments/UTs with a legislature (except J&K)
- 90:10 for North Eastern and Himalayan States, and the UT of J&K
- 100% for UTs without a legislature
