Elephant Spotted in Namdapha Tiger Reserve After Over a Decade
An elephant has been sighted in Namdapha Tiger Reserve for the first time in more than ten years.
About Namdapha Tiger Reserve
- Location: Situated in the easternmost part of India, in Changlang District, Arunachal Pradesh.
- River: The Namdapha River flows through the reserve.
- Vegetation: The reserve features a diverse range of ecosystems, including evergreen forests, moist deciduous forests, subtropical forests, temperate forests, and alpine regions.
- Fauna: Namdapha is unique in India for hosting all four big cats—tiger, leopard, clouded leopard, and snow leopard.
- Flora: It is home to species exclusive to the region, such as Pinus merkusii, Abies delavavi, and Mishimi Teeta (also known as Copti teeta)
