Guinea has successfully eradicated the gambiense form of human African trypanosomiasis (HAT), commonly known as sleeping sickness.

Political Features:

Guinea is a West African country located along the Atlantic coast. It shares borders with Guinea-Bissau (to the northwest), Senegal (to the north), Mali (to the northeast), Côte d'Ivoire (to the southeast), and Liberia and Sierra Leone (to the south).

Geographical Features:

  • Climate: Tropical, characterized by hot and humid conditions.
  • Mountain Ranges: Includes the Nimba, Loma, and Fouta Djallon ranges.
  • Major Rivers: The Niger, Gambia, Bafing, and Bakoye rivers, which are the headwaters of the Senegal River.
  • Highest Peak: Mount Nimba
