The World Bank, in its Country Climate and Development Report, estimates that Cabo Verde needs to invest $140 million annually to address its climate and development challenges.

Physical Features:

• Location: Situated off the coast of West Africa in the Atlantic Ocean.
• Divisions: The country is divided into two groups: the Barlavento (Windward) group in the north and the Sotavento (Leeward) group in the south.
• Largest Port: Mindelo, located on São Vicente.

Geographical Features:

• Cabo Verde is a small archipelago of volcanic origin.
• The terrain varies from the geologically older, flatter islands in the east to the newer, more mountainous islands in the west.

Climate:

• Cabo Verde experiences hot temperatures throughout the year, with very little rainfall and cool sea breezes from the Atlantic.

Fast Track Immigration – Trusted Traveller Program (FTI-TTP)

The Home Minister recently launched the Fast Track Immigration – Trusted Traveller Program (FTI-TTP) at seven major airports across India. These include Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kochi, and Ahmedabad.

About FTI-TTP:

• The program is part of the government's Viksit Bharat@2047 vision.
• Nodal Ministry: Ministry of Home Affairs.
• Nodal Agency: Bureau of Immigration.
• Objective: To expedite the immigration clearance process through electronic gates.

Phases of Implementation:

• Phase 1: Indian citizens and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) cardholders are included.
• Phase 2: Foreign travelers will be included.

Airports Covered: Initially, the program will be available at 21 major airports across India.

Conjugal Rights

The Supreme Court recently ruled that proceedings related to the restitution of conjugal rights and maintenance are entirely independent of one another.

About Conjugal Rights: Conjugal rights are those granted by marriage, such as the right to live together and the right of each spouse to the companionship of the other. These rights are recognized both in personal laws governing marriage, divorce, and maintenance, as well as in criminal law, which mandates the payment of maintenance and alimony to a spouse.

Hindu Marriage Act, 1955:

• The Act addresses conjugal rights, stating that if either the husband or wife withdraws from the society of the other without reasonable excuse, the aggrieved party may seek the restitution of conjugal rights through the court.

Similar provisions exist in Muslim personal law and the Divorce Act, 1869, which applies to Christian family law.
